Default Generator

Can I run my generator as I am cruising on my boat? It is a 2001
Searay 310. Will it interfer with the boat charging circuit?
Thanks,
Frank

It should not hurt your alternator but make sure you check your battery
water (If you have it). Putting 2-3 chargers on a single battery can
sometimes boil them a bit. They are supposed to shut off at a given
voltage but some run a bit hot. Gel cells will usually cook in that
scenario. I used to hit the charger breakers when I ran my Mains but
one time forgetting to turn it back on and I quit that policy.

IF you have accurate voltage meters check them when the battery is
charged, gen on, charger on and mains at cruise... if you see them in
the 14 V you may have an issue.

Assuming it was installed correctly, yes.

You should be able to run the generator while cruising without any problem.

My question is: why do you want to?
