We definitely need to drain the swamp. Looks like Pelosi had a field day. Does
raising the salary of House members really provide relief to the nemployed?

Which angle?
I’m watching it and not sure what you mean.
is this just for the representatives themselves or is it for staff,
additional employees as well? as opposed to a salary increase--

WTF difference does it make? It's supposed to be a Covid-19 bill. Who does
someone know at Howard University? Does student loan bailouts help the Covid-19
issue?

What bull****.

I dint know why but i do not remember the name of where I read this

It is not covid bill

It is an omnibus bill

there is no connection required between the various subsection

Then why is Nancy referring to the COVID bill?

Political mileage. If they called it a $900billion, equality for
Pakistani women, and horse race owner's bailout bill, half of the
democrats would have tanked it.

The "raise" was actually in the congressional personal expense
accounts that they get to spend like their own money and it is not
even taxable.
It is buried down in index "I" of H.R.133. That section is about 100
pages long with all sorts of money getting thrown around the capitol
building.

I am bothered by this. But somehow the fiscal conservative Republican party voted for it. vote such hypocrites out

hope you have a peaceful Christmas and no ice storm

I agree but that is what happens when everyone gets to hang their
favorite ornament on the tree. I am still looking at this mess but it
continues to **** me off and I have to stop. If they didn't tack the
Covid relief on this bill, I doubt it would have even got out of the
house.

BTW I doubt I will see an ice storm in Ft Myers. Water doesn't really
freeze here unless you involve refrigeration.

mk5000

I have no idea how to get in touch with anyone anymore. Everyone, it seems, has a home phone, a cell phone, a regular e-mail account, a Facebook account, a Twitter account, and a Web site. Some of them also have a Google Voice number. There are the sentimental few who still have fax machines.

What is important is that there are millions of Americans who are
unemployed or underemployed and whose benefits are expiring or have
expired, and the asshole in the White House is out playing golf and
didn't get involved in the negotiations and at the very end of the
process suddenly had a series of objections that will further **** over
those in the most dire need - just like he ****ed over every American
with his failure to act properly and in a timely basis over the COVID-19
pandemic. Why he wants a second term is hard to understand, as he
certainly doesn't do the job a POTUS is supposed to do.

What is important is that Pelosi, et al, spend billions on buying votes and
forgot the people who are in need.

Oh, and Pelosi was telling folks to go to Chinatown and dance in the streets
while Biden was calling Trump names for closing the border.

How soon lying narcissists forget.

If the congress people really cared about the American public, they
would have offered a clean bill instead of tacking this on a bill that
otherwise probably would not have passed.
This is the typical DC bull**** that put us $27 Trillion in debt.

If this was really about the American public it would have been part
of H.R.8472 — Impact Aid Corona virus Relief Act that sailed through.

my best guess is because when she is talking about the portion of the
omnibus that deals with covid, she calls it the covid bill, which is
included in the omnibus

And i bet when she talks about other parts of the omnibus, she talks
about them referring to them by the correct subsection

plant milkweed this year. This is exactly what Jonah Goldberg would have you do

mk5000

People say to me, 'Are you still excited when you go on tour?' Should I
be excited about leaving my family? No, and no one should. It's as simple
as that. If you put aside the fantasy of it, it is what it is and has to
be done. And that's fine, and I pour my entire energy and enthusiasm into
it, but of course, I'm of two minds about the whole idea.

Neil Peart

I doubt she would refer to any of the bill other than the COVID part. She
does not want any light shown on the pork.
