Non-farm job increase of 2.5 million.

19 to 20 percent.)

Data is through the middle (12th) of May that
included only the early stages of "opening"
the country. Next month's data could be much
better if this trend continues.

How much of that is just people who gave up trying to get unemployment
from a system that failed from the overload?
I do hope it is real but until we are really reopened I am skeptical.
I do understand a lot of businesses have found a way around these
shutdowns tho. Construction and the service trades are going full tilt
around here. I know my trade neighbors say they are staying busy.
We are also starting to see restaurants open. I was in Rusty's the
other day (sports bar, restaurant) and there were 20 customers inside
at tables. They removed about half the tables and all the bar stools
so people could spread out but other than that it was business as
normal. Not a mask in sight.
It is pretty hard to eat or drink with a mask on.

LOL. This mask stuff really has your underwear in a bunch.

Just the useless gesture aspect of it

Unless I missed where you said you have an advanced degree in "pandemic virus transmission mechanics", you really have zero standing to proclaim it as being useless.

You saying stuff like that reeks of being harry-esque. Just saying.

I have spent many hours in classes about PPE. I do understand what
masks are all about.
If a bandanna loosely tied around your face is a mask, there is no
such thing as a mask.

In the CDC article, which I'm sure you've read all three times I shared it with
you, did you see any mention of bandannas?

... but a bandanna or a neck gaiter are perfectly acceptable to the
"mask" gang. In fact Wayne said that was what he used (actually the
first time I knew what you called those U/V protectors I see guys on
boats wearing).

So? Some folks wear nothing. That doesn't make them right.

I think the CDC actually uses the term "cloth face covering" is some
of their politically correct writings.

I know it would pain you to read the CDC mask guidelines I posted for you, but
you might give it a shot.

Post it again and try to get the same one because their "opinion" does
not seem to be that static. They are all over and nothing I have seen,
actually looks like a real study. It is all "may", "might" and
"could".

The fact that all of this is a 'may', 'might', or 'could' seems to give you

Tying garlic around your neck "may" protect you too.

What is missing is any kind of scientific study or proof.
To start with there is no standard to test.

Maybe I am just a victim of working in a couple of different
industries that have standards and I was taught if there is no
standard, there is no assurance the product is doing anything.

Would you use a space heater that wasn't U/L (or some other NTRL)
listed?
Would you use a seat belt that did not pass the NHTSA standards?
How about an airbag?

That is not really effective either if you are still handling the bag
and then touching your face. I also have demonstrated with my oxygen
meter than you are not that far off when you are trying to breathe
through a damp surgical mask. My blood oxygen dropped 10%, just
carrying the Costco stuff in from the car.

25 years or so ago and then it was an occasional cigar.
I never had a cigarette habit.
My oxygen usually runs 98-99.

I've never seen a scientific study that resulted in 100% certainty, and I doubt
if you have either. So your argument against 'may', 'might', or 'could' is
bull****.

Oh, if you put the bag over your head and tightly zip-tie it, you're safe from
the virus. I didn't say anything about touching it or taking it off. Of course,
you 'may' die from a lack of air.
