Default Possible Good News...

WASHINGTON — Donald Trump’s erratic handling of the coronavirus
outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and
private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at
risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Mr. Trump does not put
the nation on a radically improved course.

Many Republicans believe President Trump’s daily news briefings are
inflicting grave damage on his political standing.

The scale of the G.O.P.’s challenge has crystallized in the last week.
With 26 million Americans now having filed for unemployment benefits,
Mr. Trump’s standing in states that he carried in 2016 looks
increasingly wobbly: New surveys show him trailing significantly in
battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, and he is even
narrowly behind in must-win Florida.

Democrats raised substantially more money than Republicans did in the
first quarter in the most pivotal congressional races, according to
recent campaign finance reports. And while Mr. Trump is well ahead in
money compared with the presumptive Democratic nominee, Joseph R. Biden
Jr., Democratic donors are only beginning to focus on the general
election, and several super PACs plan to spend heavily on behalf of him
and the party.

Perhaps most significantly, Mr. Trump’s single best advantage as an
incumbent — his access to the bully pulpit — has effectively become a
platform for self-sabotage.

Perhaps the end is in sight for our long national nightmare of Trump.

They (the media in general) really have a hard time talking about the
damage to the economy at the same time that they are hyping up the
virus and telling us all to stay home. The shut down killed the
economy, nothing else and whenever anyone even hints about trying to
take their foot off the neck of commerce they are shouted down by
media talking heads who are still being paid their millions ... to
stay home.
I do find it interesting that when Cuomo came out and said 2.7 million
New Yorkers had the virus, spontaneously recovered and some didn't
even know they had it, the media pretty much ignored it.
I guess the message "We might be OK" does not get anyone to tune in at
11 and it won't sell papers.
If you want to say Trump should take a page from the Biden play book
and shut the **** up, I agree but overall, I rate the federal
government performance as normal here. This is a huge bureaucracy that
can't turn on a dime and when they do, it is usually in the wrong
direction.
If the tests New York are right, this might not be as bad as it is
being hyped. If the tests are wrong, we should be glad the government
didn't roll out 350,000,000 bad tests.
In the mean time, let some states be the testing ground and if that
scares you, stay out of Georgia and Nevada.

We also don't hear much about the study done at Ft Detrick on the
virus that suggests the half life of the virus on surfaces drops to a
couple minutes at 80% R/H and in direct sunlight. Aerosols are
measured in seconds.
William Bryan (DHS undersecretary) presented the study at the white
house, after it was leaked and it was quickly ignored.
They would rather cover Trump's mischaracterization of a snippet he
heard.

The idea of going to the beach or out on a golf course is also against
the narrative coming from TV outlets that you should STAY INSIDE AND
WATCH MORE TV.
No agenda there huh?

You must really be bored to provide a response like that to a cut'n'paste from

The media in general is talking up the economy constantly. Nobody
rationale is ignoring Cuomo. You don't get many TV news channels, I
believe...no cable?

Cable news is not news, they even admit that themselves. It is
entertainment. Just like Rush Limbaugh or The Jimmy Fallon show.
