There is a product that does exactly what you want. It's called "lock tite" or generically "thread locker. Just don't use too much or the wrong type if you intend to disassemble the piece. Good luck, genius, with your shooting annoyances. :-) Meant teflon tape. Locktite is not something I would use for the purpose described, even the non-perm variety.
