I+IBk-ve got it all figured out except the +IBw-pull knob+IB0- above the ignition key that only says baitwell. What does this do??? If it's red it's the kill switch. They are usually located near the ignition.Could be so sun faded it doesn't look red anymore. My recollections are that motorcycles have kill switches and small boats have deadman switches on the shifter/throttle. On every boat I have had since the Carter administration the kill switch was a lanyard operated switch that shorted out the ignition.Of course, but if the lanyard is missing it could be a "pull knob" as he described.

Doubt it the lanyard switch is spring loaded. Can't start the
engine with the lanyard out. Of course the owners had 32 years to
monkey with whatever that switch was originally.

He didn't say if it was running but you're right. There can be a lot
more wrong with a boat that old.
