They say it's brewed for Americans ....... It is. It’s all watered down. 7% alcohol here, 40% there... Unlikely. Could be but not likely Heinekens.Â* The record in Europe for alcohol content in beer is "Snake Vemon", a Scottish brew with an alcohol content of 67.5 percent. Lots of places in the USA beer is limited to about 10%.Â*Â* Have to call it something else if over that.Â*Â* Ale, malt liquor, etc. The newest version (2017) of Sam Adams Utopias is 28% alcohol and is marketed as "high alcohol beer".Â* $200 a bottle.Â* But, you are right, it is illegal in eleven states.Â*Â* Legal in MA though. Ah, that explains the extremely stringent gun control laws in MA. I can assure you from experience that Utopias is supposed to be sipped like a liqueur and only in small amounts.Â* Trying to drink it like regular beer can be life threatening.Â* :-) I don't drink, but if someone offerred me a taste, I'd try it just based on the comments you've made about it. I thought I'd found a good deal on it, 'til I read more closely. https://www.ebay.com/i/222986100962?chn=ps I suppose this is more like it. https://www.liquorstore-online.com/6...caAsxvEALw_wcB I'll have to pass on the whole bottle I'm afraid. $75 for the empty bottle?Â*Â* People on eBay will try to sell anything. The eBay listing for a full bottle in your link is a rip-off.Â* They don't sell for that much money.Â* Retailers sell it for $200. My late father-in-law was a collector of "foreign" beer bottles, though he wasn't much of a drinker. He had at least 100 bottles from different brands and countries. My contribution was an empty Montello beer bottle a buddy found for me in south Texas. It was a beer brewed in the Yucatan Peninsula. The brand was bought out and disappeared for a while. I drank a few on my first trip to Cancun and thought it was very tasty. My Texas buddy said a few years ago the brand had been "revived," but it wasn't the same. |
