Gosh, do you suppose that had something to do with the aging of WW II and Korean War vets, and the 1973 ending of the draft? Nope. Ending the draft may have had something to do with it. The military was not as closely connected to the average American and the rise of people who think like Harry started. He truly believes the military is just people who were incapable of doing anything else. I wonder if ie really feels that way about John Kerry or Tammy Duckworth. Locally a veteran died. Was also officer number 1 for the Pleasanton police dept. Joe Rose was a WW2 army vet and joined the navy for the Korean action. Then in 1954 joined the police dept. was a good guy. I knew him for at least 25 years Met him when he taught a traffic violators school. I think he liked giving to society. A definition of public servant. |
