She sold me a cup of regular coffee from her personal pot. .... It’s comforting to know there are compassionate people out there... You ask for an “Americano”. I figured that out myself but it is just a shot of espresso in a cup of hot water. The lady who ran the restaurant had a Mr Coffee in the back for herself. The absolute best coffee I have ever had was at the Myrtle Bank Hotel in Kingston Jamaica. The Ritz in Naples was a close second. It is a very strong coffee but not bitter, burnt or harsh in any way. It just has a very distinctive taste to it and I am not sure how they do it. eggshells. Really? I might give that a shot. I assume the shells off of a hard boiled egg are more sanitary but I am not sure they would impart the right flavor. No flavor. The eggshells will reduce the acidity making the coffee smoother. |

This is more than that. The coffee has a different flavor component that I have never found anywhere else. Even the chef at my wife's place wasn't sure how they did it. (at least not in any way I could discern) It is definitely in the process because our electrician buddy works at the Ritz and he brought me some of the coffee. It was good but not Ritz good. This is also not some espresso cup at a time thing since they make huge pots of it. |
