Default I thought profiling was illegal

I don't think its illegal, its just not politically correct. If
memory serves, I think most of the legal issues come from the angle of
racism.

If the vast majority of crime in an area is being committed by
Purples, is it reasonable for an officer to be more suspicious of a
Purple man acting suspiciously than a Green man?


Nicely put. Maybe Chicago police just need some purple tinted glasses. Given what Dr. Wernick says,
"... the model intentionally avoids using variables that could discriminate in some way, like race,
gender, ethnicity and geography," I wonder why it might not be 'politically correct'.
