I come from a land of wooden ships and iron men. We laugh at 3 foot seas. Post a video of the Bayliner in 2-4's and then I'll be impressed. I'm not holding my breath... |

I know you've hit the Bahamas pretty hard, and I was wondering if you'd ever cruised over to New Orleans, staying fairly close to the shore and putting in at any interesting places along the way. Seems like it would be worth it just to get some good Louisiana red beans and rice. === "That cruise is definitely on my bucket list. *People who have done that run say the Florida panhandle area is some of the best cruising anywhere. *One of the challenges *is what is known as the "Big Bend" area of Florida, which because of shallow water, forces you to run offshore from Clearwater up towards Panama City. *Nothing we haven't done before but you need to wait for the right weather window and then run all night. *Once you get to Panama City you can run inside on the the Gulf Coast ICW all the way to New Orleans if you choose. Right now however I'm salivating at the very real possibility of cruising to Cuba. *The regulatory and insurance issues are rapidly improving and it looks like there is a very real chance of being able to go sometime in the near future." You could probably charge admission for that cruise. I'm sure most real boaters would jump at a chance to take that voyage. Shoot, even some of us temporary non-boat-owners might jump at that. -- Ban liars, tax cheats, idiots, audiophools, and narcissists...not guns! |

Ditzy is just being his usual obstreperous self and as usual has nothing of importance to offer here. You're comparing him to yourself. Trust me, he has much more to offer than you've dreamed of. At the Key West treasure museum is an about 21' boat of sheet metal, 50 gallon drums and an old car engine that had 23 people make the trip. |
