For some reason the builders of this house decided the chime for the doorbell should
be mounted in the entranceway facing the front door - about three feet from the door. This meant that folks pushing the doorbell could probably hear the chime just fine, but those in the family room couldn't hear squat (unless you are a dog). I just installed one of these: http://tinyurl.com/gwobthk The receiver is mounted about 40' from the front door, and works like a champ. Now I just have to remember a new battery every 6-8 months or so. (The seller says 'a year'). -- Ban idiots, not guns! |
