Now, .300 Blackout...that's another matter.  Any center fire SS round will be far from silent but the profile of the sound usually allows shooting without ear protection. Most of the sonic crack is actually down range. That is why snipers like them. You know there was a shot but it is loudest when it is next to you so it is hard to figure where it came from. ..22 Rim fires don't really have that much crack so it is not that noticeable. The suppressor the guy I knew had really was not that great in the house tho because there was so much other noise related to the shot that it was still very loud. The bullet going into the trap was a lot of it. He was very disappointed until we went out back and fired a few down into the bank behind the house. |
