I didn't use it until the past few months, making trips to the library and getting 'real' books instead. Finally I learned to use the damn thing. The library has a great selection of e-books and downloading them is a snap. If you've not tried one of these things, you might consider the idea. I love mine, but am now thinking of upgrading to the Fire HD 8. Bigger screen, etc. For a while I was downloading books to my iPad to read. Works well but for some reason I still like a "real" book. I like real books also, but the iPad is really nice when traveling. As to the Kindle. I gave my wife a Kindle Fire some years ago. Is nice as a reader, but for web and mail, sucks. Finally gave her an iPad Mini. Better al around. Was on close out at Walmart in Medford, near Roseburg, so not even a bad price. The grandkids love the Kindle for games. They are 5 and 7, so non violent games. |
