Anyone have one? My wife has Kindle 1 and loves it. Quick downloads. She thinks Kindle 2 will read to you, but she's happy with what she's got. Nomdeplume would probably want K2 given her reading capabilities. -- John H |

My wife thinks she wants a kindle 2. I heard a sample of the voice and to me it sounded like a crappy Microsoft speech engine. Also I heard there is still a problem with inadvertent page turning which leads to the "Where the f%$k was I dilemma". Barnes and Noble just came out with some competition for the Kindle, which is in short supply till after the holidays. I just downloaded Brown's new book on MP3 for her to try out audio books. Which leads into the next subject, FM transmitters. My Crane came in yesterday and I'll be trying it out today if things go well. |

I heard a comparison of the BandN one to the Kindle on the radio last week. But, as I had no interest in either, I paid no attention to which was best, worst, or whatever. Perhaps there's a review or two online...maybe one of the computer mags? -- John H |

Luckily, I live very close to a library which has a great automated 'hold' system, so I'm always able to get books I want. -- John H |
