This makes sense. We have them in our rivers now. From what the article says if they're prepared right they're really good. My cousin is a net fisherman on the Wabash river and I'll ask him about it.
I'll try it! http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2...ews/708179855/ |

So I called my cousin and he said he netted about 200 lb yesterday. They usually kill em and let the anals have they're way with them, but there are some people that want some and he'll give them away.
I asked him if he'd filet me some. So I've got a few pounds saved for me. I think I'll like it. Evidently they're not that hard to work up. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dfutebOJglA |

Bunches of them, all through the fish. Not like your basic catfish or striper. -- Guns don't cause problems. Gun owner behavior causes problems. |

I'd think a carp cannot be filleted (sp?) because of the bones being everywhere. -- Guns don't cause problems. Gun owner behavior causes problems. |

Maybe we can eat enough of it to make it an endangered species. |

There are plenty of recipes for it, like these: http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/files...p_Cuisine_.pdf Also recipes for John Herring, er, the snakehead fish: http://tastyquery.com/recipes-for/pi...snakehead-fish |

The article claims the the reason Asian Carp isn't popular is because of the name. "Asian carp" is aw nice species. However, if it's known as "Silverfin" that's different.
In a town 40 miles from me a seafood market makes a fried fish sandwich using Silverfin and I've heard it's pretty tasty. Next week I'll be going through there and try it. |
