Default Barrel Threading...

Volquartsen threaded the barrel, relocated the front site, and included
a thread keeper, all for about $100, with a quick turnaround. The red
dot I have mounted on the rail is a decent on, and doesn't weigh much,
but I think I need one that is smaller. Also, I have to cut the mounting
rail back by about 1-1/2"...I'm not going to mount anything but a red
dot on this pistol.

This is the 512 model Ruger, not the 22/45 model.

Got your can yet?

Indeed, but at the moment one of my co-trustees has it...he lives in
Virginia. That's the real beauty of a Firearms Trust...co-trustees may
legally have the "stamp" items in their possession. It isn't done to
avoid dealing with a recalcitrant sheriff...it is done for practical
reasons, such as sharing items and establishing a line of inheritance.
