It's really not my taste, but I can appreciate that many would find it attractive. We have a forest behind and to the side of the house, and it is full of interesting flora and fauna, including foxes, raccoons, deer, et cetera, and a deep, dry creek bed that dates back many thousands of years. Almost any afternoon/evening, we have critters walking through the woods behind the house and sometimes on the lawn. If I wanted to live next to the water, it wouldn't be on a manmade canal. We had a summer cottage while I was growing up at the beach in Milford. That would be my first choice, although not in Connecticut. Not enough summer, too much winter.
