My memory on this is vague, but she was dating the son of a wheat farmer after we broke up. Thank goodness it wasn't a bankster or a bankster facilitator. You don't understand how important banking is to the economy. Most people are very unwise in there personal spending. I think it would be wise to educate the public about the importance of living on less then you earn. A high percentage of the population is 100% reliant on other peoples money (banks) to buy something as common as a car. It has never made sense to me that a family can't afford to pay cash for a car, but they can afford to pay for a car plus interest. Never mind 0% interest deals, most people shouldn't be buying new cars anyway. My latest education came when I wanted to buy some peel-N-seal tape. I called two of the local aluminum building supply companies, they were both out of business. I drove over to where there was a third aluminum building supply company, when I arrived, the sign had been changed to a photography studio. I went in anyway and ask, the lady said, let me get him, he's in the back. He came out and I mentioned what I had run across with his competitors. I got a 45 minute story about his industry. The business failures all came down to the banking industry and tight criteria for lending money. He said, when it was at it's worst his salesmen would sell 100 jobs, but only 15% of those would qualify for the loan. It all spiraled down from there. He had to reduce salesmen, this resulted in less sales, until it is just a few people now, and two closed businesses. But this comes back to people that can not afford a $10,000 expense, but they can afford a $10,000 + interest expense. Makes no sense.
