Oh, puh-lease. You have so many chips on your shoulder, you could be
used to light campfires all across 'Merica.

Tanks???

Where are the tanks? You've been snookered by the press.

I think he means APC's...

I agree that these do not meet the military definition of a tank but
they are certainly more than a local police force needs and when they
mount crew served guns on them they start approaching the tank
category.

Ft Myers just bought an MRAP (for less than the scrap value of the
steel)
I was not even aware of the big "mine" problem in our streets.
They tried to make the case that this would be cheaper to maintain
than their old armored vehicle but this is still a proprietary DoD
vehicle and they will be buying parts from the same military vendors
who sell is $600 toilet seats.
BTW in the 20 years that they had the old armored vehicle, I don't
remember one single incident that actually required armor.
It is just a float in the Edison Pageant of Light parade.

The MRAP will make a better float. Don't you think the police are aware
of their own budget? Ft Meyers paid $3500 for theirs. Most are free,
so maybe its got low miles. That's about the cost of a 1998 Chevy.
The Feds paid about $500,000
If it is too expensive to maintain, it'll be scrapped.
Here's some info.

MRAPs/

The cops had no choice when the ex-Coast Guard marksman leveled a .45 at

Are 2 dead cops and a killer on the loose better than 9 wounded innocent
bystanders? And only 3 were struck by bullets, the rest had superficial
wounds from fragments of bullets or concrete.
You be the judge. To me it's life in the big city.
Besides, these cops didn't have "machine guns" and innocent bystanders
are always getting shot.
These cops did good, with 10 of 16 shots on the target.

It sounds like at least 9 shots got away from them and 16 shots for
ONE ****ING GUY from 20 feet away?

These boys need a little more practice. They just spray and pray.
If anyone needs magazine restrictions, it is the cops.
If they didn't have 19 in the gun, they might aim better.
When my old chief was teaching me to shoot a .45, I got one bullet at
a time. I didn't even have a magazine in the gun. Every shot was
followed by the question, "what did you see over the sights when you
fired".
I didn't get a magazine until we both agreed, I was actually aiming
each shot.

So, who was shooting at YOU? Again, yours is a perfect world.

I ask again. What cops have machine guns? MP5/M16/m4 aren't machine
guns.

BATF would disagree with that.
Certainly there are AR variants that are SA only but they are not
M16A1's or M4s and the MP5 is certainly a machine gun. I have fired
all but the M4.

The ATF considers a shoestring a machine gun. Since I'll never deal
with the ATF, I'll continue to use the Army definition.
Besides, I've read there have been two deaths in 80 years from legally
owned AR/SMG fire. Don't know the details.
Some SWAT has AR/SMG, but I haven't read of them using full auto.
The cops have many more constraints than the military, and SWAT members
are trained much better than the typical grunt.

Not so. Another of your re-writes.

You asked:

"In all seriousness, why do you watch MNNBC? Is it for the entertainment
like here? Or do you think you seriously get "news" there?"

To which I responded:

"In all seriousness why the hell do you care what I watch? Or, more to
the point, what I watch is none of your business. I watch a lot of news
and political commentary including, sometimes, Fox News."

You then responded with:

"It was a serious question, sorry about your penis dick...."

To which I replied:

"You were given a serious response. I don't need a foul-mouthed,
paranoid, hot-headed little twerp advising me as to what to watch or not."

To which you followed up by making sure I know that you think I am an
asshole, etc.

So, who initiated the name calling?
