I don't shoot the .22's very often so I suspect my stash will last a while. What I need is .380 ammo. I just bought another handgun earlier this week for the first time in a long time. I've been thinking about a compact pocket pistol to replace the S&W Bodyguard 380 that I had but didn't like. Choices are limited here in MA because of the famous "banned" list by the Attorney General's office. I happened to visit the local gun shop I go to this past Monday. He had two Sig Sauer P228s in the case. One had fancy engraving and pearl grips. Too over the top for me. The other was more plain but had nice looking rosewood grips instead of the baseline black. I liked that one and temptation overcame logic and it went home with me. Looks identical to this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...sauer-P238.jpg === I've seen 380 on the shelf at our local Walmart. It's not nearly as popular as 22lr. I think a lot of 22lr gets used in target practice and competition. When it was readily available I was going through 300 to 400 rounds a week. The rest of it is being hoarded or bought up by scalpers. |

Maybe should wait on the AR? I'd say that the M&P is just as good as an AR, And I doubt you'll find the AR's dropping in price that much. Might be wrong though... i read where there is starting to be an oversupply of AR type weapons. Most have filled their fears in buying and the supply line is still cranked up. That's very true. Look at the price of the Windham's now. I was looking at the Wymdhams and the store in Livermore saint $950 plus tax. 250 les for the S&W. |

Very few dealers will even consider shipping to a FFL in MA because of the confusion on what's banned and what's not. Shipping directly to the buyer is not permitted obviously. Heck, I can't even buy ammo on-line. MA doesn't allow that. Many of the manufacturers of popular handguns don't bother trying to get their models approved here either. Too much red tape and I think they have to provide a minimum of five of each model to be tested. They are destroyed in the process and there's no guarantee it will be approved. Some of the rules are just plain stupid. One popular model (I think it was a Ruger) was banned because the AG didn't like where the serial number was placed. I guess the AG's office wants Ruger to modify their production line just to meet their opinion of where it should be. Is that why you didn't consider the LCP? I considered it because I like Ruger firearms but the LCP is not MA compliant. |

I'd like one also but, like the Ruger LCP, the Colt Mustang is not MA compliant. I think the list of non-compliant handguns in MA is longer than the list of compliant models. |
