Maybe should wait on the AR? Commodity center fire ammo will flirt with 15-20 cents a round and I will jump back in. Until then I am OK. .308 is still more than .45! ..45's pretty cheap at WalMart, and they seem to have it most of the time. |

Maybe should wait on the AR? I don't like how the M&P shoots. The gas system doesn't seem as refined as my Colt or my friend's Rock River Arms. It feels more like my bolt action .223. There are two different systems. The M&P and original M16 gas tube system and then the newer more expensive Piston at the end of the forestock system. My Colt AR15 is pre-ban. If the gas system if the same as the M&P there's something else that is off. |

Maybe should wait on the AR? I'd say that the M&P is just as good as an AR, And I doubt you'll find the AR's dropping in price that much. Might be wrong though... i read where there is starting to be an oversupply of AR type weapons. Most have filled their fears in buying and the supply line is still cranked up. That's very true. Look at the price of the Windham's now. |

Change the buffer spring or the buffer. Sure, but if the factory is content with their product and I can buy a better firearm off the shelf, why the need for modifications? |

Finding .380 (I miss-typed) is the problem - at a decent price. 9MM is cheaper from the same manufacturers!? |

Your theory is solid except for .22LR. I can't figure that one out. === That will ease up also after everyone has stocked up with the obligatory lifetime supply. At that point the hoarders and speculators will be out of the market and things will return to normal. |

At that point the hoarders and speculators will be out of the market and things will return to normal. I have two .22 cal guns .. a Ruger SR22 pistol and a Ruger 10/22 rifle. When I purchased them the dealer threw in a box of 500 rounds for each gun. I also have a couple of boxes that I had purchased previously for another .22 cal revolver I had. I don't shoot the .22's very often so I suspect my stash will last a while. What I need is .380 ammo. I just bought another handgun earlier this week for the first time in a long time. I've been thinking about a compact pocket pistol to replace the S&W Bodyguard 380 that I had but didn't like. Choices are limited here in MA because of the famous "banned" list by the Attorney General's office. I happened to visit the local gun shop I go to this past Monday. He had two Sig Sauer P228s in the case. One had fancy engraving and pearl grips. Too over the top for me. The other was more plain but had nice looking rosewood grips instead of the baseline black. I liked that one and temptation overcame logic and it went home with me. Looks identical to this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...sauer-P238.jpg |
