Default Ronald Reagan...

Ronald Reagan considered Nelson Mandela a terrorist but supported
Osama bin Laden.

He was also the union steward of the screen actors guild. So he had a
few liberal misconceptions which he corrected as he matured.

Intellectual dishonesty.

Reagan stepped up a policy initiated by Jimmy Carter in which the USA
supplied funds and equipment to Afghan rebels in their fight with the
Soviet Union who had invaded and occupied Afghanistan.

Reagan's primary purpose was to exhaust the Soviet Union financially as
part of his goal of breaking the economic back of the Soviet Union and
bring the Cold War to a conclusion. Osama bin Laden wasn't a
significant player at the time, if a player at all.

In fact, bin Laden praised Jimmy Carter's writings regarding Israel and
Palestine.

Ronnie Raygun was a great friend of the Iranian terrorists, too, and
also the closer to home "Contra" terrorists. One wonders when in his
presidency his brain turned to mush.

Reagan in his lifetime never had a thought that deep. If he believed
that, someone on his staff put the idea in his head. I saw him speak
twice in person and I was sorely disappointed each time. He could
deliver a speech from time to time, but not one that had much in
abstract thinking. I never liked anything about him. On the other hand,
I did like Nixon, Ford, and George H.W. Bush.

SAM DONALDSON: Mr. President, in talking about the continuing recession
tonight, you have blamed mistakes of the past and you have blamed the
congress. Does any of the blame belong to you?

PRESIDENT REAGAN: Yes, because for many years I was a democrat.

What's funny of course is that today's GOP has no place for a Reagan.
