No, it won't be OK. Stupid ****ing comment, but I would expect no better.

John, you already took the bait and the hook is well set. Now stop

flopping around and splashing water all over the place. I think a

simple "not worthy of comment" might have sufficed.

Oh Wayne, hush. You have your share of fun, I should be able to do the same!

They have been covering this wall to wall on CNN for a couple days but
I didn't watch much TV today.

I think Corey has reached too far again. This is probably a decent 2d
degree case but I don't think they have proved premeditation.

If his lawyer got any traction with his story that they pointed a
tripod out the window pretending that it was a shotgun and saying they
were going to kill Dunn, he might walk

A lot was made about the number of shots he fired but O'mara made an
interesting point commenting on CNN. When cops shoot, they usually
empty their gun and they are supposed to be trained professionals.

Hey, it's stand your ground Florida. Everyone knows it's OK for white
racists to shoot and kill black teenagers there, right?

No, and most folks have more ****ing sense than to make such comments.

But that's just 'most', eh?

Yeah, because the shooter waited a couple of days to report his
involvement, and at his trial whined that the police didn't find the
kid's shotgun which, of course, they had no idea the kids had. The
shooter was "standing his ground."

Florida's stand your ground law seems little more than a payoff to the
gun lobby to provide a reason for hotheads to walk around armed in the
hope they'll be able to shoot someone and get away with it. The law
sells more guns.

Are you and your wife going to be packing when you walk your dog in the
neighborhood?

My comment had nothing to do with the shooter, it had to do with the
senseless comment you made, to
wit: "Everyone knows it's OK for white racists to shoot and kill black
teenagers there, right?"

Stupid ****ing comment.

We both pack a couple poop bags, just in case something like your comment gets dumped.

We'll see what happens with this trial. If Dunn walks, then it is ok for
white racists in Florida to kill black teenagers for whatever reason
they want, even if the music is too loud.

My bet is he is acquitted of the murder one beef and gets convicted on
one of the other lesser charges but it is really meaningless since the
sentence for any of them, even the aggravated assault, will be "20 to
life". (the OTHER controversial Florida gun law that blunts stand your
ground)

From what I can see so far, the guy is guilty of at least second degree
murder... maybe even first. I think the last three shots into the back of
the car seal that deal.

Be hell trying for a murder one. Where is the premeditation? How many
armed robbers get a murder one after killing someone in a robbery? Most
get Murder 2/ manslaughter.

Oh, I get it. A right-wing racist state legislature and governor pass

they were standing their ground, and the enablers of the right-wing

The flip side of that is another law by the same body that says if you
guess wrong you have a mandatory 25 to life. (basically if they
convict you of any lesser included felony)
That is why the murder charge is largely symbolic.
This guy will die in jail if they can just make aggravated assault
stick.

Again (like Zimmerman) stand your ground was not even brought by the
defendant so your rant is just that, an ignorant (of the facts) rant,

One point is that the shooters aren't smart enough to think through what
they are doing. They figure they can just kill someone and claim it was
self defense in the absence of any weapon found in the dead person's
possession.

Stand your ground is nothing more than a license to kill that was pushed
by gun money.

Yup, that's exactly what I said.... "at least" guilty of second degree
murder"...*maybe" first.

And the premeditation was after the first volley, the second three
shots. I know it's a stretch but if they could somehow prove the kid was
in fact killed in the second volley... *maybe* but I do agree, doubtful...

You still have to meet the same standard of self defense as you do in
most states.
This is mostly hype genned up by the liberal media.
I am not sure it sold one extra gun so that is bogus too.
If anything, the CCW sells guns ... but you brag about having one of
them.

Your response has nothing to do with my posit, that your state's stand
your ground law makes morons think they have a license to kill if
someone upsets them. And stand your ground certainly has been brought up
by the Jacksonville defendant.

Cite that.
Was there a stand your ground hearing? I don't remember seeing it and
that is what the law affords the defendant. If the case ever makes it
to trial, the defense is a standard self defense case, based on the
"use of deadly force" law.

Dunn is basing his defense on the claim to have seen what he thought
was a weapon. I doubt it will work for him but if he was a cop, it
would have never even come to a trial and nobody would have questioned
the 10 shots. That is the crime..

Cite what? That Dunn mentioned stand your ground as a defense? It's been
all over the news reports. I don't know whether there was a hearing on
SYG...what i said was the defendant has brought it up.
