agreed. I use mine. and in fact I'll be hauling in some sand this year, to make my own 'beach' And seeing it's not a 'huge' pond but it is about 8 feet deep on one end. The top water can get pretty warm in the summer. but I do have a circulating pump that if let run for about 15 minutes, will put the bottom water to the top and that makes a huge difference!

That was a mistake I made. They talked me into thinking I could only
go 6 feet deep. It would have been harder for them but I could have
gone to 8 feet.

I should note somewhere that mine is above ground..

It will be the last. No more pools.

I wouldn't have a pool up north. The season is too short and the
winterizing process too cumbersome (mostly the opening).

Not true really... I have an above ground. Empty in the fall, fill in
the spring...

Isn't it full of leaves, dirty water and frogs in the spring? It used
to take my brother in law a long weekend to clean out his pool before
he could even start to put the water in.

It's 20 feet around and only holds about an inch of water over the
winter.. leaves are removed in about ten minutes, a quick flush and fill
her up.. Takes more time to bring out the filters and hook them up...

Ours is somewhat of a pain to clean in the spring. It has one of those
covers that an elephant is supposed to be able to stand on but somehow
it still gets a lot of leaves and debris in it over the course of the
winter. It is kept full over the winter, although the water level is
lowered to just below the skimmers which are treated with non-toxic
antifreeze. Typically use about 10-12 gallons of liquid shock and
vacuum the bottom using the pool pump in the spring. Once all the big
stuff is removed I put the robotic Shark in and let it do it's thing. I
don't bother putting salt in the pool until the water temp gets up to
above 65 degrees because the the cell won't produce much chlorine below
that. If we open it during the second week of May and run the heater
it's ready to use by June but then have to close it again by the first
week of October. We could probably extend it a bit by running the heater
more but nobody really uses it after then and the heat loses at night
get pretty high.

Up here, I think it would be better to join a nice club and use their pool.

Wholeheartedly agree - even all the way down here in VA. Our local county rec center charges a bit
over $500 for a year's membership. Much cheaper than a swimming pool, I'd imagine.

Well, there is that.

We have friends whose mother claimed her dog (BIG dog) was a service dog so
it could go on an airplane with her and not in baggage. Not good.

It's getting to be a problem in restaurants and grocery stores also. From what I understand, the
dog's status cannot be questioned.

AND the problem is multiplied seeing you can buy fake service dog ID's on the 'net.
