You haven't heard about the efforts in many Republican governed states
to shut down many, if not all, womens' health service clinics and all
the other social services cutbacks? In some cases, in Texas and in other
states, there are now requirements that doctors who perform abortions
have "admitting privileges" at area hospitals, but the hospitals won't
grant these privileges to doctors who perform abortions.

Many of these states had few clinics to begin with, and now the states
are trying to shut down those that remain.

It's the cutback in other social services, though, where the state
governors are looking for ways to pass along more tax cuts to the
wealthy. Kansas is the prime example.

"Efforts"?

The question was whether the service was unavailable, not whether it
was unpopular.

BTW there are hospitals in DC that don't do "abortions". (although you
can get a procedure that terminates a pregnancy)

The fact is, every single woman in the US, citizen or not, has access to
abortion on demand.

The "efforts" to shut down womens' health clinics is pretty successful.
Don't you see the news?

As for DC, there literally are dozens of good hospitals in our metro
area. That some religiously sponsored hospitals, Catholic hospitals, for
example, might not perform an abortion doesn't mean you have to drive
far to find a hospital that will perform one. It's not like being in
Kansas or some other backwards state.

One can live outside the womb, one is still a barely fertilized egg. Perhaps there is no difference
to you. To me there is.

Nobody makes people live there. You don't need an exit visa to move
away from Texas.
You say you don't even want to drive through some states and I bet
they don't care.

Our states have far from uniform laws and customs. They are decided by
the people who live there and if you don't, they don't care what you
think.
There are plenty on northeastern laws that are just as objectionable
to Texans. Houston has no "zoning". The people who live there are
happy with that. If they aren't MOVE.
You can go to Chicago or New York where the nanny state will regulate
every facet of your life from the gun you can own, the "required"
conduit in your wall or the soft drinks you can't buy.

Not only that but the Nanny States here are all bought and paid for....
One of Jessi's sponsors opened a business and didn't grease the right
palms, couldn't put a sign in front on the road, for the opening. The
lighted sign they put on the building was "put out" too.. While the
restraunt that moved in under them has had a huge banner by the road for
the last 8 weeks cause the owner is "connected" by dollars to the local
zoning board.... Lib control is all about stealing money, period...

Wow. Worst response ever. Many people live where they live because they
don't have the ability to move somewhere else. The Supreme Court has
ruled that abortion is legal. What the backwards states have done is
game the system to shove the religious beliefs of their legislators and
governors onto the people.

Of course, YOU get to decide which is murder and which is not.... So,
aborting a fetus is okay with you if it is too young to survive
medically unaided outside of the womb? Got it.
