We're seeing mostly 50 to 60 footers in the Out Islands. Some of them tow a 30 to 35 ft center console behind them for day fishing in good weather. -------------------------------- The Egg was a nice boat but they had redesigned it to lighten it up ..... mainly to get more speed. Speed was what it was all about then for chartering but the lightened design makes a big difference in heavier seas, something I noticed right away. I have a friend with an old, heavy Hatteras of about the same size with DD 671s. I could run circles around him until the seas started getting snotty. Then he had the advantage. But for occasional fishing trips in decent weather it was good. Fast and highly maneuverable at the dock. It was like a sports car compared to the Navigator. But for overall comfort and performance (for it's size) in heavier seas, the Navigator was outstanding. It was built like a tank. |
