I mean, it has everything I need but I just don't like driving that huge monstrosity... Think I would get over it soon enough? Have your wife decide what you want to have for a family trailer first. Then you decide which 250 or 350 setup is the appropriate haul vehicle. How about a combo horse trailer/camper? For now, the big trailer is still a pipe dream, at least a year or two down the road so I am thinking a vehicle for now, our trailer (loaded to the gills) is 3000 pounds bikes and all... The Dakota gets one mile less per gallon than the jeep and it has the 4.7 v8 so probably better mileage than the jeep with the trailer we run now is my thinking. I can suck 20-21 mpg out of the Jeep (rated 21 hwy) but as soon as I put a trailer on, right down to 15-16.. I am thinking the Dakota might do better than that with the trailer because of the V8.. -------------------------------------- I wouldn't get overly optimistic. The mileage you get with any tow vehicle is affected in a big way by the air resistance of the front of the trailer when trucking down the highway. People often don't think about that. They aren't exactly designed to be aerodynamic. |
