Default polarkraft 1468 dakota jon boat

i have a 1468 dakota jon boat.its 14 feet long,68 inches wide at the
beam,48 inches wide at the floor and the transom is 16 inches tall.i
know the horse power limit on the tag says 25 horse, but how heavy of
an engine can i put on it,as long as the horse power is in spec.the
tag says 150lbs but there are no 25 horse motors that are that light.i
live on a very shallow river and i have to run a jet outboard or a
surface drive engine like the go-devil ,but the lightest go-devil is
217lbs and the lightest jet i've found is a 20 horse mercury at
180lbs.thanks for any info.

Put 150# on the transom and see how much the boat sinks down.
