Yep, that's all true. Flatland rivers change course! Hell, look at maps
from before and after the New Madrid earthquake. It actually made the
Mississippi run the other direction for awhile!


I re-read "Life on the Mississippi" recently and got a lot more out of
it then I'd remembered from childhood.
