French leave went well, thank you very much. We cruised down to Virginia Beach with another couple as guests, and stayed in that area for a few days, fished offshore, and by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, and hit some of our favorite beaches. Got dragged to a few "antique" shops. I think I am older than some of the stuff being sold in them. I gave serious thought to running down to Oregon Inlet just for the hell of it. But I didn't. We left Saturday about midday, and the Bay was windy and choppy, but not problematical. We had an evening thunderstorm earlier this week, easy enough to "ride out" at the marina. ![]() Rudee's Restaurant, at the back of Rudee's Inlet, was just pretty good this time, and I don't know whether we hit it during a brief downturn or whether the quality is sliding. I used to like Rudee's a lot. Fortunately, there are about a zillion restaurants in the Virginia Beach area, and more than a handful are excellent. Nothing broke. ![]() Fewer posts stacked up here in "wrecked.boats" than I usually see after a trip. I shall do the smart thing, mark the folder "read" and not read any of them. I am sure that if I missed anything of consequence, someone will point it out, eh? ![]() Coming soon: a trip up to the New Haven area, Milford, Branford, and Guilford, to catch up with the buddies, their wives, and their much-too-young nieces. ![]() Hey Krausie, does the IRS field office in Baltimore know about your "excellent adventure." I'll bet they would take a keen interest if anyone just happened to let them know: IRS Office - Baltimore 31 Hopkins Plaza, Baltimore MD 21201 Phone Number ![]() All the best, George |
