A suppressor is an NFA device, regulated exactly the same way as
a M2

Not counting grenades and LAWS rockets and the like. However it is
legal to own a bolt OR semi-auto .50 cal with an FOID card in
Illinois.

Great for hunting deer...

Might be, I've never tried it.

Well, if that doesn't work, get yourself an RPG. Hunting ought to be
renamed for what it is...animal slaughter. It's the same as cattle
slaughter.

Are you a vegetarian?

No. But I don't consider hunting a "sport," or hunters "sportsmen." It's
simply slaughtering mammals for consumption in a different way than it
usually is done in the meatpacking industry. There's very little skill
involved in looking through the scope of a rifle, pulling the trigger
and killing a deer. I've seen it done several times by guys who can
barely tie their shoes.

Now, if you "hunt" with a still or video camera, and manage to get
really close and personal with an animal, that is a sport that usually
takes a great deal of skill to produce results.

And I no longer think fishing is a "sport," either. Isn't evolution of
thought wonderful?

When are you going to pay your taxes?

I knew that if we kept after you long enough, you'd come around to our
way of thinking. At least on this subject.

I am actually more of that kind of hunter these days but I still
respect guys who hunt for food. (fish, foul or furry game)

I have no dispute with subsistence hunters/fishermen who have no other
way to put food on their tables but, then, what they are doing is not
"sport."

Probably the sort of hunting I find most disgusting is done by those
"sport" hunting guys who are far away from their prey, and use high
powered rifles and scopes to kill a "trophy" goat, sheep, moose, bear,
whatever, so they have a head to stick on their wall. There's no "sport"
in shooting an argali.

I did admire Tred Barta's skill and courage when he left his firearms at
home and went after wild boar with a knife. Still hunting, but at least
his prey had a "sporting" chance, and could have killed him.

And combining corn, soybeans, milo and canola is "grain slaughter?"

Is running a combine to harvest your crops considered a "sport" where
you live?

This group is about slaughtering fish and other boating related
activities, deadbeat.

Eating is wonderful as well.

I know abstract thinking is not your forte.

It certainly is yours but this is pretty black and white. You also
haven't grasped the whole idea about paying taxes, either.

Oh no. And neither is butchering livestock.

And BTW, I wouldn't use an RPG. a LAWS is far more effective!
