I know you're for real but I can't believe you're really that dense. The United States has the most violent society in the modern western world. That's probably not what most Americans want to hear or believe. ---------------------- Cite? Actually Mexico probably qualifies as number 1 at the present time. Before that Columbia and some of the other South and Central American countries. Most of the US violence is drug related. Same as Mexico. Get rid of most of the drug laws, and have the government control same drugs, and violence would fall much lower. |

You are much more likely to die of a slashing knife wound than a gun shot wound. Tell that to the dead in Newtown, all of whom apparently were shot multiple times by a Bushmaster .223 rifle. If the shooter had been armed with knives, the brave teachers and administrators would have been able to tackle him and drag him to the floor, more than likely. |

I know you're for real but I can't believe you're really that dense. Maybe you can't read between the lines, but if the knife wielder wanted those kids dead. They would be. And just what does that tell you about the difference between our two societies and American's ability to handle weapons responsibly? We are a nation of desperate people, with no national mental health system (thanks to Reagan) a diminishing income vs. expense rate and a society that promotes violence as a justifiable means to resolving conflicts. Think making guns real available is a good idea? ----------------------------------- Regan did not shut down the mental health system. He went along with a very liberal Legislature who wanted community health centers. So he went along with the legislature. Not worth fighting. The Regional Centers were actually funded under Regan. Since about Grey Davis, they have been cut tremendously. |

You never know when a violent, foul-mouthed little ****head like you will bust into the house on a mission of violence. That's for sure. better keep your head down. Oh, I'm not concerned about what might happen if you broke into the house here. You'd leave on a gurney, with a sheet covering you from the top of your head to the soles of your feet, and your body's next stop would be the county morgue. ------------------ maybe Dr. Dr. Dr. should spend some therapy time with you. You seem to be violence prone. |

Say, "my wife's in the den, go get her?" Who was that crazy Georgia politician you so admired, the one who was insane? |

Here you go: http://crookedtimber.org/2012/07/20/...olent-country/ I see no central or South America countries. No Mexico. I see some small, very single race countries. America was settled by those with aggressive tendencies. Took a lot to move from another country to here. Was the aggressive ones. But why are we going bonkers now? Why is China seeing the same mass attacks? We, as a society need to learn why things have gone off the rails. Look at the lack of civility from our elected representatives. Both sides of the aisle! |
