Yeah, because there is no difference between kids blowing up mailboxes
and ex-military wackos blowing up federal office buildings.

The only difference is the target and the size of the bomb.

Oh, really? I used to blow up stuff on the sandbars at low tide with
cherry bombs. The difference is, it would never occur to me to blow up
an office building.

That's good for the wildlife and marine life..... asshole.

Uh, the "stuff" wasn't living, and the sandbars were covered by 6-10' of
seawater twice a day. Mostly we blew up milk cartons and empty
containers from canned goods, and when we were finished, we picked them
up and put them in the trash. We would have done the same for you.

Maybe we should be spending a little more time figuring out why people
do these things instead of simply trying to put everything that could
be used as a weapon on a high shelf.

This is similar to the way we are handling airline security. Instead
of targeting terrorists, we target the last weapon they came up with.
That does absolutely nothing to stop the next weapon.

So you don't think the blast from those cherry bombs would do anything
to the marine life around the bars? If so, you are stupid. And if you
think "we" can do anything to me, go for it, you fat pig.

That is why I think it is more important to have crazy person control
than weapon control.

A crazy person will always find a weapon.

Do you know how difficult it is to "control" those you are calling
"crazy people"? How would you do it? It is not a trivial task, nor
should it be, to even commit someone for a three day psych evaluation.
Absent such an evaluation, what is your plan?

Half the time, those doing the evaluations are nuttier than the patients.

Guns are designed to kill. Box cutters are designed to open boxes.

Ammonium Nitrate was designed to be fertilizer. What's your point?

Something that's sole purpose in design is killing vs. anything else.

So what's your solution, jps? Does continuous bitching in a boating newsgroup help solve the
problem?
