It appears to me that the"Heritage Foundation" is the source of your
data. I would not consider them either "fair" or "balanced" or
accurate.

I would consider these statistics more reliable:
http://www.census.gov/population/www...ry-Service.pdf

---------------------------------------------------------

The Heritage Foundation is one of the web sites I read (because it popped up
in the Google search) however knowing it's reputation among
some, I also searched for and read several others including the Department
of Defense military personnel and demographics
statistics. The numbers vary only slightly.

The Heritage Foundation would rate up there with Michael Moore in
terms of using numbers and information to its best advantage.

I just went back and found the Heritage website again. The sources given
for the data they used is given as:

US Department of Defense. Defense Manpower Data Center, 2006-2007 and:

US Census Bureau, United States Census 2000

The numbers are consistent with those found directly from the cited sources.

The data shows the military has become the employer of last resort.

I think (1) that is true and (2) that particular employer is now
laying off.

The net result is that the coming few years is NOT going to be pretty.

You mean Slowbama is laying them off, right?

Jon Stewart has more journalistic integrity in one of his pubic hairs
than all three of those buffoons combined.
