Default swim shorts

Can anyone tell me where to find a good pair of shorts for swimming or
paddling that have pockets that zip closed? I can not find any except with
velcro and they do not really close securely.

Go for the Landsend pair suggested by Michaud. The EMS pair is
sub-satisfactory because it doesn't have a belt. You really don't
want to be a laughingstock because you had yer pants pulled off by a
swift current or turbulent wave or hydraulic.

No belt, but they have a drawcord. Drawcords are more comfortable than
belts with buckles when you're sitting down all day.

The LandsEnd pair has a 1" wide cloth belt with a Fastex style buckle which
more secure and is just as comfortable as a drawstring. They also have
zippered pockets on the side instead of just on the hip so you don't have to
sit all day on whatever you want to keep secured. There's also a short
cloth strap sewn into the right front pocket with a plastic snap attached so
that you can hook your car keys to it. All this for $19.50 instead of
$29.00 for the EMS pair.
