The 32-year-old Norwegian man who allegedly went on a shooting spree
on the island of Utoya has been identified as Anders Behring Breivik,
according to multiple reports.

The Daily Mail and Sky News were among those to report the suspect's
name. According to witnesses, the gunman was dressed as a police
officer and gunned down young people as they ran for their lives at a
youth camp.

Police said Friday evening that they've linked the youth camp shooting
and Oslo bombing. Breivik is believed to have acted alone.

Norwegian TV2 reports that Breivik belongs to "right-wing circles" in
Oslo. Swedish news site Expressen adds that he has been known to write
to right-wing forums in Norway, is a self-described nationalist and
has also written a number of posts critical of Islam.

A Twitter account for Breivik has surfaced, though it only has one
post, this quote from philosopher John Stuart Mill: "One person with a
belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests." The
tweet was posted on July 17.

On a Facebook account that Norwegian media outlets have attributed to
Breivik, he describes himself as having Christian, conservative views.
He says he enjoys hunting, the games World of Warcraft and Modern
Warfare 2, and lives in Oslo. He also lists political analysis and
stock analysis as interests.

I see this monster being labled "Conservative" to smear by association
anyone, in the US that adhears to the Constiution and the Republic and
American values.
This monster is being called a neo Nazi or Nazi. You aren't a
Conservative of any stripe if you are a Nazi or neo Nazi.
The terms Conservative and Nazi are not kindred or interchangeable.
Conservative Americans fought the Nazis. Liberal american fought the
Nazis. Communists partnered with Hitler for a while.
That monster is not Conservative.

I don't think he's "conservative" either but he does share a common
bond with American "conservatives" who are anti-immigration,
anti-Muslim and consider themselves Christian.

Please explain this.

The meaning of the term "conservative" in this country has changed
drastically since the days of Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, and Reagan, and
even Goldwater, who was very conservative. Nowadays, it mostly
describes a political movement that has moved very far away from the
middle to the extreme right, and really has very little to do with
"the Constitution," "the Republic," and "American values."

In addition to being anti-immigration and anti-Muslim, today's
conservative movement is not just anti-government spending, it is
anti-government. It also is anti-woman, anti-child, anti-middle class,
and is all about exclusionary politics and corporatism.

And while many of today's über-conservatives in this country may call
themselves christians, or hide behind the umbrella of christianity, it
is obvious they are *not* followers of the teachings of Jesus but are
only CINOs...christians in name only.

So long as you dump people into one camp or the other with your silly
perceptions, you are promoting friction amongst us. But that's what you
feed on, isn't it? WAFA.

I have lived in Norway in the early 80's. You couldn't drag me back
there. Great place to visit, crappy place to live. So socialist you
might as well just accept being a sheep in a barn. For some that could
be hard to accept.

I could see a non-Muslim/non-Islam anti-government group starting up
there. I could also see the Islamic fanatics doing it too. But Islam
tends to be more group-conspiracy based thus easier to stop.

Isn't to say I support them, I do not. Violence like this is
intolerable. Simple answer for such individuals seeking more freedom is
to emigrate from the socialist tax me silly nations. Let the socialist
pay the socialist bills. Or perhaps I am more passive and non-violent
about it.

It is not just conservatives who are terrorist, but Christians seem to
have more than their fair share of terrorist. Here is a tiny list of
acts of terrorism conducted by Christians.

Anyone who believes Christianity is a religion of peace, need to study
their history. Christians have killed billions of people in the name of
Christ.

People think two dimensionally. Really there are more dimensions. At
least the following:

Liberal-to the left.
Conservative to the right.
Statism to the front (big fat government)
Libertarian (less basic government)

Could even add in communism, anarchy, Islam, Nazi as extreme views of
the same. Islam for example, pure statism, nether liberal or
conservative. Just marriage of family and government as one controlled
by egalitarians. An extreme situation for sure.

Try the quiz, and run it multiple times. Once for yourself and once for
how government actually behaves. Many might find themselves amazed at
the differences.

For example, censorship. Government does do it by undue influence to
the media people. They withhold (censor) lots from the people. So
Maybe or Agree is the government position. Government would love the
draft. Answer away and see where you sand.

Government comes in statist. Unlikely most people are there preferring
some personal freedoms or financial liberty.

Me, I score conservative-libertarian.

Or perhaps I am more passive and non-violent
about it.

Oh give us a break. You haven't left your single-wide since you were
born... except for a beer run maybe.
