There's no way to know without looking at the data. Interestingly, the author admits as much but is right. It's fun to push it back in their faces. |

It would have been cheaper to put them on on EI for 10 years. Pretty expensive jobs and 1/2 of them are gone already anyways. They are shipping that energy in the raw to China. Most of those union jobs are in those oil and coal companies. Which are making lots of money. Lots of the rest of Canada is hurting. Was in BC last summer for a few weeks. Any thing tourist related is really hurting. Fishing guides I talked with said their bookings were way down. Lots of empty hotel rooms also. |

So, because the tourist industry is hurting, in a large measure due to the lousy world economy, that means unions are bad? What point are you trying to make, because you're not making it. |

Tourism is hurting in BC because of stupid prices driven by taxes. I live in Alberta, right next to BC, and I save my money for Alaska or Costa Rica.... I don't travel BC any more. Between depression times and taxes BC makes no sense. Might do Montana here shortly as they don't have sales tax for visitors shopping. -- Now the real war is on Obama-debt, to save America's future.
