Jobs were gone a long time ago. It would have been cheaper to put them
on on EI for 10 years. Pretty expensive jobs and 1/2 of them are gone
already anyways.

More to come too, round 2 of the depression coming right at ya.

funny that canada has 30% union membership and 7.4% unemployment

free market US has made it illegal to join unions...7% unions

and 9.2% unemployment

Reply:
Canada is a small population country, with a large holding of Coal and oil.
They are shipping that energy in the raw to China. Most of those union jobs
are in those oil and coal companies. Which are making lots of money. Lots
of the rest of Canada is hurting. Was in BC last summer for a few weeks.
Any thing tourist related is really hurting. Fishing guides I talked with
said their bookings were way down. Lots of empty hotel rooms also.

So, because the tourist industry is hurting, in a large measure due to
the lousy world economy, that means unions are bad? What point are you
trying to make, because you're not making it.
