Default Cleaning a PFD

What is the best way to clean a PFD? Hosing it down and scrubbing with
soap does not seem to be completely effective, and someone told me that
putting a PFD in a clothes washer damaged it.

Hey Tim

I never wore my PFD to a social affair. They do make excellent pillows on
overnight kayaking trips or on minimum support long river trips. My
experience is that ondinary whitewater kayaking keeps your PFD well rinsed.

You might keep an unused PFD for use at formal dances. With your black and
white formal wetsuit.

You can wash it by hand in a tub, or toss it into a front loading machine at
a laundramat. Let it air dry.
