bat**** crazy...

This from the asshole that constantly follows Harry around replying to
every post he makes.

Uh, I rarely address the little pigs directly anymore. I am too busy
preparing to bury my MIL and holding fast to my girls during their time
of need, and helping The Mouse keep her eye on the ball... Harry and
Bonnie the pig are just trying to get somebody to pay attention, as they
just don't get the attention they need at home.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

You think the little turd can still get a woody? And, if he did, would
it be noticeable? :)

BOO, you coward.

Yes. And that's as sick as Santorum.
Just shows how low we are.
All poison, little common sense.

That was actually Savage and his gay mafia that google bombed
Santorum.

You're defending Santorum??? Now that's funny!

I am just pointing out a fact. I have no opinion either way

This is completely untrue. Neither is broke and this is just a right
wing talking point without merit.

That is just denial.
Any program that pays out more than it takes in is doomed to fail

No. You're wrong. Many programs "pay out" more than they take in for
some period of time and they do fine in the long run. You're the one
in denial.

You started out with 35 or 40 payers per retiree in 1935 and people
were only expected to collect for a couple of years if they lived that
long. Now we have 3 workers per retiree and they will collect for 18
years.
It is simply unsustainable. The whole concept of a trust fund is
fantasy, invented in 1939 to fund the build up for WWII.

what's also unsustainable is the massive increase in healthcare costs
we face, again, engineered by the 'free market' fundamentalism of the
right.
Health care cost is part of it but simply having 40 million medicare
recipients is unsustainable and that will double in a decade.

It's only unsustainable if no action is taken. Action is being
proposed and the situation will turn around. More fear mongering isn't
part of the solution.

Do you have a 1.5 trillion dollar idea to fix the deficit. That is
really what we are talking about here and it is not a long term
problem it is a problem today. Medicare/SS are just another part of
the deficit now since both are running in the red.

I suggested several ways to start. We DON'T NEED TO FIX THIS TOMORROW.
We need to get started... subsidies, military, tax rates. I know you
don't like it and would prefer to think all is lost and the sky is
falling. It isn't.

BTW did you see how Geithner is extending the debt ceiling? He is
taking money from the federal pension program. I am surprised nobody
is raising hell about that.

we have no choice but to extend the ceiling. our debt wouldnt be
serviceable if we didnt

The debt will be unserviceable when the interest rate doubles too and
that is far more than likely.

It is not "more likely." There's no credible evidence that interest
rates will be doubling any time soon.

More denial.
At this point we are only paying 0.3% on our short bonds. That is not
likely to continue very long. To think a fraction of a percent rate
hike is impossible it just lunacy. Right now investors are not even
covering the drop in the value of the dollar we pay them back with.

There is NO EVIDENCE of a dramatic increase in interest rates. Total
nonsense.

Well, in order to have less Taliban, you have to be prepared to kill them.

I do think it best to leave, but after building a monument our of

Put it right in-front of their capital buildings. And if they ause

American and Canadian blood for a barbaric culture.

The point is the Taliban don't really care about us one way or the
other., If we get out they will chug along in their 10th century world
without giving us a second thought.
We are fighting their birth rate and we will never kill them all.
The taliban are against the drug trade, if that is your issue. The
drugs come from the people we support.

You're wrong. They will harbor terrorists, such as bin laden if we
don't make that unsustainable for them. We're in the process of doing
that in Afg.

We don't need to "kill them all." More nonsense.

We have no real evidence that 150,000 troops on the ground is doing
much to change anything. All we have proved is if you have enough
people there we can drive the support underground.
This is another unsustainable program that we will eventually stop.
The only question is when.
A month after we leave the Taliban will be back with the propaganda
advantage of being able to point out how many friends and neighbors
the evil Americans killed. We are making them stronger, not weaker.

Hmm... well, we have Bob Gates saying it on 60 minutes, but I guess

Raising taxes is such a pair of dirty words neither party will say it
and you have so many people on Plume's denial that nobody really even
cares. S&P tried to warn us that these bonds may be in peril and they
got shouted down. The next warning will come from the auction when
people start passing on the first couple of rounds and those interest
rates start rising. I think this could be one of those "tipping point"
things. The worse it gets, the worse it will get.

I'm going from barking to climbing.
There will 2 trees to climb when the flood waters come.
The tax tree and the reduced spending tree.
It's obvious.
Some trees are loaded up with people and offer no refuge.
The SS tree and the Medicare tree.
Those are essential to a working society.
The tax tree will probably sprout automatically when the Bush tax cuts
REALLY expire. Thats what, $4T over 10 years?
Beats by far any Dem or Rep proposal.
You cut Medicare spending by reining in costs.
That's fraud and overpayment to the already socialized medical industry.
I've seen statistics that 60% of all medical costs are government paid.
So the gov has clout if they have the balls to use it.
No need to reduce medical care for seniors, but give the socialized
medical industry a haircut.
It's a tough one, but doable, especially if the money runs out.
If the health care bill isn't repealed there will be a natural
transition to a European model of health care, which will be more
competitive than the current U.S. system and lower costs.
You get rid of all the socialist subsidies to all industries except new
energy technologies.
Cut defense spending.
It's important that the current political gridlock continues.
Otherwise the Dems won't raise taxes enough with that stupid $250k
income limit, or the Reps will cut taxes even more and totally bury us
as they did pre-Obama.
I want them fighting so much they can't make a deal on extending the tax
cuts. Right there is $4T.
The best example of pure stupidity I've ever seen is extending those
Bush tax cuts.
Then they all whine about debt.
Never saw so many morons in one place as in DC.
Cocksuckers.
