I bought a used 1987 4 hp Johnson 2 stroke, 2 cylinder that I really
like, except for the 2 stroke part. It only weighs 33#, which is a big deal to get on and off the dinghy. Because it's a 2 stroke, I leave it on the dinghy and pivot the whole works up on the swimstep. It uses practically no fuel and it very smooth and quiet. I have been using Pennzoil synthetic TC-III oil, which doesn't smell as bad as tthe regular stuff, but costs twice as much. For a new 4 stroke, I would probably buy the new Suzuki 4-6 hp. |
