I thought these SF libs were s'posed to be so "green". *They dump
their sewage into the bay, WTF? *What a buncha hypocrites.

And, you've got some reality problems...

Sewage in Tallahassee is used on a spray field to grow hay to be used
to prevent erosion on construction sites. It actually generates
revenue for the city.
Sewage with bleach in it is still sewage, ewwww, CHUNKY.

So, I guess you didn't read the whole article... I guess this guy is
just a closet right-wing nut like yourself.

"Not everybody thinks it's a good idea.

A Don't Bleach Our Bay alert has just gone out from eco-blogger Adam
Lowry who argues the city would be much better off using a
disinfectant like hydrogen peroxide - or better yet, a solution that
would naturally break down the bacteria.

As for whether the supposedly environmentally friendly, low-flow
toilets are worth the trouble? Well, according to Jue, they have
helped trim San Francisco's annual water consumption by about 20
million gallons."

Don't you have an on site sewage treatment facility? If not why not?

Go down to San Diego, and see the raw sewage being piped into the
Ocean....

You obviously did not read the article. The sewage is treated then
bleached. D'oh.

BTW, your hay field sewage leaks into the groundwater.

And chlorine bleach is good for the seawater????

I wonder which is worse on the little fishes, the sewage or the bleach.

In any case, the hypocrite part was apt....expecially when it comes to freedom
of speech - and sewage dumping, of course.

We dump our sewage in Huntingtown, MD. Don't know if you've ever heard of it.
It's a big waste disposal site for Virginia and Maryland.

:)

You're ever the asshole, hey, Herring? Can't you work in a racist remark
or two, too? Is Fairfax still dumping sewage into the Occuquan and then
into the Potomac?

DC dumps into the Potomac too, just north of the Wilson Bridge. (Blue
Plains)

The Potomac is, except for about five feet of shoreline, in Maryland.

I think that the funny thing is that they have created a big problem by
trying to solve another problem and the solution, bleach, is going to
create an even bigger problem. The solution is to bring back the
"normal" toilets.

Didn't you ever go to the Bar-J Chili Parlor next to the sewage
treatment plant in Lorton? You know, right next to the feed store. The
place had a wood pallet for a front step and the furniture was new in
about 1955.

It really went uptown after they won the national chili cookoff in 1983.
You couldn't go in sit at the bar watch the 1963 vintage TV and drink
beer.

I had no idea high school grads who skipped college for the marines were
so well versed in environmental engineering.

Like Bush when he invaded Iraq for no reason? I agree!
