None of the Nimitz class carriers have come here since the Gulf War.. and even then they anchored out in the stream. Security reasons, I guess. In the good ole days we could crawl all over the ships... especially if we found a good natured Yankee sailor who'd show us around. All we had to do was convince them we had an older sister. |
