No Denying Last Decade Was the Hottest Ever

The last decade is the hottest on record, according to the latest "State
of the Climate" report released by the U.S. National Atmospheric and
Oceanic Administration and published in the Bulletin of the American
Meteorological Society. Global-climate record-keeping began in earnest
in the 1880s. Three hundred scientists analyzed data from 37 different
climate indicators, including humidity, glacier cover, sea-surface
temperature, sea level, and temperature over land, and, for the first
time, put all of that data together in one place. " 'Their consistency
'jumps off the page at you,' report co-author Derek Arndt said,"
according to National Geographic. " 'Global warming is undeniable,' and
it's happening fast." Just as you would predict in a warming world,
temperature over land and ocean heat content showed signs of steadily
increasing, while sea ice and snow cover decreased. "New evidence
suggest that more than 90 percent of ... heat trapped by greenhouse
gases over the past 50 years has been absorbed into the oceans,"
National Geographic reported. "Because water expands as it warms, the
added ocean heat is contributing to sea level rise as well as to the
rapid melting of Arctic summer sea ice."

Gee, I guess SW Tom wasn't on the "call"list...Tom is, after all, the
greatest scientist in his mind.

Spoofer alert! I'm much too refined and intelligent to simply cut and
paste articles. Besides, I'd make sure I did a lot of name calling and
insulting to make myself look smart.

Would someone please send some of that heat over here? We've been
having the coldest summer in recorded history. Even the poor
winemakers are moaning because their grapes are not maturing due to
lack of heat. Besides, I hate boating the delta with cold northerly
winds.

I'll bet, actually, I don't have to bet, because I know that 1) you're a
moron and 2) the science is pretty clear. The extremes are exactly what
defines adverse climate change.

Should have been out yesterday. Was nice, but windy. Cool for this time of
year, but sunny and maybe 75 degrees. Boat ran well, was a test after major
work. New impeller in the Yamaha T-8. 8 years old impeller. Crooked but
complete. New U-joints and moved the main motor forward 1.5" for better U
joint clearance. Freed up the frozen spline on the Spicer connector.Ran
very well. Caught one bass, about 6#. Could not find the scale until after
release. Frog bite was on, but could not hook any fish. Lots of blow ups
through the moss on the frog, but no hooked fish. Finally tossed a Senko
into a hole in the mat and pulled out the big bass.
