Have you heard of the Jones Act?

snip.............
When do Republicans lie? Every time they open their mouths.

Unbelievable.
People are hanging around trying to dream up inaccurate crap at
every turn.
Sure sounds a lot like the 'Dopers' we suffer here in wrecked boats.

You follow Harry like a puppy. Turn off your computer and spend your
efforts on your dysfunctional family, Don.

......and right on cue....... an inaccurate doper spewing crap!

Say what? You aren't that stupid, are you?

Have you heard of the Jones Act? Unless you read Newsmax and
listen to a
lot of right-wing radio, probably not. It's an obscure statute
that's
been on the books since 1920, and it requires all shipping
between U.S.
ports or in U.S. coastal waters to be carried in U.S.-flag ships
that
are owned and crewed by U.S. citizens.

So why are conservatives suddenly up in arms about it? Because, they
claim, it's a labor-inspired rule that's obstructing aid to a
Gulf Coast

the right wing loves BP oil as shown by their recent apology. they
defend wall street and the banks as shown by their recent meeting
with
top level hedge fund CEO's

they HATE the middle class as shown by their paranoid conspiracy
theories.

the GOP needs to be destroyed

Actually, did you see this months employment numbers... ya sure bet
Obama wants to brag about it going down to 9.5%...

But 658,000 people gave up looking for work....

7.9 million fewer people at work in private business since this began.

14.6 million people looking for work.

Last months prop up numbers of the 400,000 census workers are again
looking for work.

Monthly job cuts are up to 125,000 for the month was partially
offset by
private job hires iof 33,000.

More than 525,000 new unemployed started to look for work last
month to
replace the lost job.

How is Obamanonics really working far ya?

Great, and it is going to take a long time to recover from the Great
Bush Recession. Those of us with intellect knew that.

You are going to play that until BO finishes his one term and is
removed from office, aren't you?

Removed from office? Is that what happens when someone isn't
reelected? I suggest you vote for whomever is the KKK nominee.

Yes, that is waht happens when someone isn't reelected.

No that isn't. If someone is recalled, then they would be removed from
office. Or, if they were impeached and convicted. As usual, you're just
plain dumb.

face it. bush and reagan were socialists for the rich

You keep forgetting Clinton and the Dems who went along to get along -

yeah. the GOP rammed the free market bull**** down their throats just
like the tea baggers are doing today with their right wing mythology.
americans can't get it out of their heads that pandering to the rich
leads to a state like mexico

and get rich. Now Obama has the same GWB crowd in his admin.
That's why there's a Tea Party on one side and a "Progressive" movement
on the other. Pick your own poison.
BTW, you and Canuck are both whack jobs. But I talk nice to you because
you're a boater.

If Herring is discussing an old racist gasbag, he's describing himself.
The one aspect of Herring's photos of himself I enjoy is how old, frail,
and sickly he looks. He looks like death on a cracker.

I like Bill Clinton explaining to the world that Robert KKK Byrd D-WV
was a racist as a young man but changed his ways and spent the rest of
his life making up for it. But, he neglected to bring up the interview
where Robert KKK Byrd D-WV talked about white N****** and black N******
in 2001. I guess 83 years old could be thought of as a young by some.

I just don't understand how the Democrat party could let a racist
continue to be in their party for so long after all he did to keep the
black man out of power. But, if you look at the Democrat party as the
party only interested in what they can get and not with any standards or
decency then it becomes clear which party is the party of greed an
hypocrisy.

Byrd is the poster boy for the modern democratic party. He must have been
biting his tongue the last couple of years.
