Bow mount troll motor question

Sorry steve that I can't help on this matter, but I'm seriously thinking on getting a motor to mount on *the pontoon. It would make a good bow thruster. especialy for 'parallel parking' LOL! reply: We went on a Princess cruise recently. *I was thoroughly impressed on the parallel parking of those monsters, particularly in Puerta Vallarta. *And San Pedro. *Man, was that a tight spot. *They sure made it look easy. *I have spent years on oceangoing vessels. *Side thrusters were just coming out at that time, though. *Now, the whole prop is on a 360 degree turning pod astern. *IIRC, the bow are still a thruster that has doors that open when needed. I don't impress easily. *Watching them do their thing made me stand in awe. Just had a good show during lunch at a Bayou Chico (Pensacola) waterfront bar on Thursday. A 19' or so bowrider coming up to the dock at the marina next door and the little lady is trying to lasso a cleat on the floating dock with the bowline. She's unsuccessfull so the Mr comes to the rescue? with the boat moving 2-3 knots on it's own, no current or tide. When he finally loops a cleat after about 20 feet of dock rubbing, he nearly gets his ass yanked off the boat. Boats may not have brakes but they do have reverse. Another, this time one of those 50' +/- drug dealer looking go-fast boats.. This guy is backing into a slip and ends up diagonal across about 3 (empty) slips, still traveling in reverse at a good clip when he bangs that big toy's port transome into a piling.
