300 hours is like 20,000 miles on your car. I change mine every 50 to
100 hours, once a year minimum.

Every 100 hours is correct (or every year at winterize if not 100 hours).
Use straight 30 weight oil (not 10w or 5w or etc).

100 hours.

Fifty hours seems appropriate. That's the cycle I'm following on my F225
Yamaha. Oil is cheap; outboards aren't.

I would lean towards 50 hours for a Diesel unless that is continuous
running. The combustion byproducts that end up the oil are both corrosive
and abrasive. In any case, no less than every three months of use.

by the way, even with the short season we have in Boston, I can't
believe that people would not make the time to use the boat for more
than 100 hour in a season.
Shame on you who let the season slip away. Boating in lousy weather is
better than not boating.
