Then I have to hit ctrl alt del to end the process. Anyone have an idea why this is happening? -- John H John, I found this, you may want to give it a shot: When Firefox runs into a problem while shutting down, it leaves a file called "parent.lock" in the profile folder in your User Profile. You'll need to delete this file in order really clean things up. The best way to find that file since the path is really long, is to just do a File Search, making sure to search in "Hidden Files and Folders" Thanks for the tip, but the search, including the hidden files, didn't turn up anything. -- When it fails to close properly or crashes (hmm... same thing) it can leave that file, but not always. *As you see, Firefox won't re-open if its process is still running, but after you close that process, it will restart. *If, after you close the process it *still* won't restart, then check for that file and delete it. *That's the parent.lock file fix.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Thanks Jack... |
