Default Nov 11: Another Sacramento River sturgeon!

My fishin' buddy John joined me for a trip to Brannan and Decker
Island.

We dropped anchor about 0830 at the same spot as the past few weeks,
just off Decker Island and as close to the shipping channel as we
could.

Around 1030 he set the hook into a lazy sturgeon who didn't want to
fight. In five minutes a 55" sturgeon was at the side of the boat. He
was so lazy he didn't make even one run. He was a good looking fish,
but acted very weird. We released him and kept at it 'til sundown, but
no more action for us.

A nearby boat caught a 75" and released it, and another just above the
minimum size, by what we could see, and kept it.

Another great sturgeon day!

With all the " weekend warriors" out there catching them and not
releasing, it's no wonder they're endangered.Plain dumb.

It's not the "WWs" that take too many sturgeon, it's the poaching
(much of it by immigrant Russians)! California has about 170 sworn
agents to enforce our wildlife laws. Imagine about 50 on duty at any
given time for the entire state! The fools that have ruined California
in so many ways refuse to pay for enforcement and that is the problem.

Uh, they have to be tagged, you only get to take a couple per year.

We get three tags per year now, and the slot is 46" to 66". So if you
really like to fish for sturgeon, you have to release a lot of them so
you keep that last tag 'til about Christmas.

Unless, of course, you're a poacher and then there are no limits of
any kind - and you'll likely never get caught in Kalifornistan where
we'll send your illegal immigrant kid to college, but we refuse to
protect our wildlife!

If California is so bad, you could always move, eh, Dale?

If you are flajim, herring, loogy, GC boater, johnson, topbassdog, rob,
or one of a half dozen others, you're wasting your time by trying to
*communicate* with me through rec.boats, because, well, you are among
the permanent members of my dumbfoch dumpster. As always, have a nice,
simple-minded day.

Nope. I'm being held against my will by my cute lil' wife. She won't
budge due to family also living in this socialist utopia. But one
day... maybe not too much longer, she may get the ultimatum: Come with
me or I'll go alone. Kalifornistan is really that bad. You have to
liver here to believe it! I think I'd choose Texas. I love those
friendly Texans!

Dale, I had plans to leave the PRK also but now it seems I'll have to
endure the socialist life for a while. I even bought our perfect
retirement home in an even friendlier place then Texas. It's Utah!
Health reasons have put our move to that state for now.
And I also have a cute, really little wife (she's 4'10" 103lbs) who
wants to stay put. ("what about the grandchildren?" she says)
I have the most wonderful neighbors on either side. But they were
brainwashed by the obamaloons and keep praising him like a messiah.
I can hardly wait to see what's going to happen in the next 3 years.
